Meet your doula
I'm passionate about supporting physiology in pregnancy, birth and postpartum through movement, nutrition and emotional support. I’m also an advocate for women’s mental health, especially postpartum, and creating the environment required for each individual to thrive in their new role.
I have a particular interest in helping women in business transition from their ‘work selves’ into motherhood. This is a time of huge identity shift, recently termed Matrescence. It can look like going from a busy, successful career into a new full-time role, where you’re learning new skills on the job!
My postpartum care includes focusing on helping you settle into your new routine, establish feeding and bonding with your baby. I’m here to support by providing nourishing meals, snacks and practical help, as well as debriefing your experiences and helping you to make sense of your new landscape.
If something specific would help you during this time, I’m open to it!
I’m Chloe, here to support you from pregnancy through parenthood.
I’d always been fascinated by women’s physiology long before becoming a doula, and studied Biomedical sciences at university as a result.
Before my training, I worked as a Product Manager in the Fintech industry for six years, responsible for launching complex tech products in high-pressure environments and making decisions with senior stakeholders. I realised that corporate life wasn’t the right fit for me. Looking back, what I enjoyed most about my time in Tech was the ability to make impactful decisions that resulted in better experiences for customers. However, I wanted my day-to-day to be more person-centred.
Once I left my job, and having trained as a Pregnancy and Postnatal Pilates instructor, I wanted to use the skills I’d learned as a Product Manager and open my own business. I went ahead and opened a Pilates, Yoga and Events space in London Fields - @starrstudiouk.
I spent a lot of time teaching new mums postnatal pilates with their babies on mats next to them, and I loved the community and loyalty built from this group. In addition, we hosted baby massage, pregnancy NCT classes and baby soundbaths.
Due to unforeseen landlord issues (Londoners will attest!), the future of the studio became precarious. Despite this, it was clear to me from my experiences teaching that I loved working with mums and their little ones, I loved having a chat and offering them physiological support.
